The Icon Hotel is privately owned & operated by Franco & Lefi Anacreonte. 

Our vision and aspiration is to purposely differentiate ourselves from any other hotel, particularly the larger chain-branded establishments, and to offer a quality and service of a 4 star hotel at affordable prices. On the 1st August 2008, we purchased arguably two of Luton's most iconic (hence the name) and landmark buildings; the former head offices of insurance giant Zurich Plc and the former Luton Chamber of Commerce, which had been vacant for some 10 years.

The buildings were adjacent to each other but not connected and joining them together to form one building proved an enormous technical & structural task.

The £3m conversion works commenced in March 2009 and we paid particular attention to sound proofing, comfort, design, energy saving features & subtle but nonetheless state-of-the-art gadgetry. We aim to open the first of two phases in the first week of November 2009 with the final phase opening by the first week in December 09.

We've furnished the hotel in a themed, elegant and aspirational manner. It is our deliberate intention to associate ourselves with and contribute to the community having sponsored for example both Luton Town Football Club (Franco's life-long team) & Luton Borough Council and continuously forging relationships with various local business. To this quest therefore we want the Icon to provide an ambience based not only on design but also interesting historical associations such as Luton's hat industry. Capello's (our signature restaurant) is both the Greek & Italian word for Hat. Luton Town FC are known as ‘The Hatters'.

We wish to be recognised as Luton's best hotel offering a truly exceptional and unique guest experience at affordable prices.

We have many glowing reviews and regularly receive positive feedback. One avenue of feedback we value is via Trip Advisor. Trip Advisor is growing rapidly and is becoming the focal point for consumer research in booking hotels and restaurants around the world. Stayed here on 12/11/11 for my birthday, had a standard room was great loved the trendy decor!!!! The staff were great very helpful and kept the drinks flowing, The bed was fantastic and the black out curtains done just the trick!!!! Met the owner who come over and wished me a happy birthday and a birthday drink very nice touch!!! Breakfaast was lovely made the full english with the changes i asked for with no problem.. Will be going back no question!!!! the baby grand piano was something a little different sounded superb.... Thanks to all at the icon and see you again soon, dom

The Famous Icon Hotel

The Icon Hotel Luton is now heading into a very busy period as we rapidly approach Christmas and the festive season.October was a great month for the hotel as we were again fully booked for a high proportion of the month. We also staged a Pink Pamper Party in aid of Breast Cancer Research on the evening of 23rd October 2011 which around 50 people attended.

The Icon has also become a hub for filming and celebrities. We welcomed an actor who was filming locally in a new Mike Newell film, we had the film crew from Come dine with me and this week we had the pleasure of welcoming Michael Katsidis and his team stay with us. Michael Katsidis will be challenging for the WBO World Lightweight title with Ricky Burns at Wembley Arena on Saturday the 5th November 2011. We wish him all the best in the future!

Dont forget there is still availability for Christmas Lunches, Parties and Buffets in December. Some dates are now sold out but places are still available on various day/evenings.
